Teaching Assistantships
The Department of Mathematics offers a number of graduate teaching assistantships to qualified students. A teaching assistantship is an excellent way to make some money while working part time to gain valuable teaching experience. The stipend for two semesters (Fall and Spring) is currently $10,000. Students qualifying for graduate teaching assistantships also receive in-state tuition levels. The duties associated with the teaching assistantship include some combination of teaching freshman level mathematics courses, teaching calculus labs, tutoring, and grading. Specific duties are assigned based on the abilities and talents of the student and on departmental needs.
